Objective To analyze the prevalence of dyslipidemia among adult residents in Shandong Province in 2013. Methods A total of 11 223 residents aged 18 and above were surveyed in 19 chronic disease risk monitoring sites in Shandong Province by multi-stage sampling. Venous blood was drawn for determination of total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL- Triglyceride (TG). After weighting, the prevalence of dyslipidemia, hypercholesterolaemia, hypercholesterolaemia, hypo HDL-C, and hyper TG in patients with different demographic characteristics was analyzed. Results The total rate of dyslipidemia was 32.6%. After complicated weighting, the total rate of dyslipidemia was 31.6% (95% CI: 28.1% -35.3%), of which 37.0% for males and 26.2% for females (X ~ 2 = 69.001, P <0.001). The prevalence of hypercholesterolemia in the population was 7.3% (95% CI: 5.6% -8.9%) and the prevalence of high LDL-C was 9.3% ~ 11.8%), the prevalence of low HDL-C was 17.2% (95% CI: 14.4% -19.9%), the prevalence of hyper TG was 12.3% (95% CI: 10.5-14.14% Among them, the prevalence of low HDL-C and hypertriglyceridemia were higher in males than in females (all P <0.05). Conclusion The total abnormal blood lipids in adult residents in Shandong Province are higher than those in males, and the main characteristics are the prevalence of low HDL-C and hypertriglyceridemia.
