In my opinion, the two cities have too many similarities. The beautiful cities of television, movies, magnificent museums and lively local music both have world-class universities, New York University and Columbia University, Peking University With Tsinghua University. For outsiders such as tourists, New York City and Beijing are bright, world-class capitals, but for the locals there is their last spiritual habitat. The locale-specific area is both real and symbolic, such as the 40-square-kilometer core area on Manhattan Island and the “Old Beijing” area within the Second Ring Road in Beijing.
