四早6号由吉林省四平市农科院玉米所1986年育成,组合434×4F1.该品种为中早熟种,出苗至成熟113天(公主岭市),需≥10℃活动积温2224℃.1989~1993年参加各类试验均表现高产、稳产、优质、抗性强、适应性广.在每公顷5.0万株密度下,平均公顷产量8304.4kg,比通单14号增产12.5%;比东农248增产18.7%,比白单九增产13.7%.适宜在吉林省东部半山区、黑龙江省第二积温带及内蒙古兴安盟、哲盟等地≥10℃活动积温2400℃左右的地区种植.春玉米区一般4月下旬至5月上旬播种为宜;清种密度一般每公顷4.5~5.0万株,肥水充足的地区或地块每公顷保苗可达5.5万株。制种父母本同期播种。父母本行比1:4,母本公顷保苗6.0~7.0万株,父本公顷保苗5.0万株。
