Literary works are famous for their vividness, emotionality and lyricism. Vague words in literary works can be seen everywhere, and their features are logical, terminological and conceptual. They often give people a feeling of dryness. Is there any ambiguous semantics in the works of science and technology? The academic circles have different opinions and experts have different views on the subject. I think there is no lack of vague semantics in the works of science and technology, except that the number and manifestations of such vague semantics are different from those of literary works. Based on the specific translation examples, this paper argues that there are several kinds of fuzzy semantic words commonly found in scientific works: semantic broad terms, generalized meaning words, qualifiers, quantifiers. In view of these fuzzy semantic words, the author proposes translation strategies such as terminology translation, interpretative translation and literal translation.
