The purpose of this study was to investigate the hemodynamic effects of nifedipine on heart failure. Eight patients with normal sinus rhythm of chronic heart failure, aged 31 to 64 years, 4 men and women each. Hemodynamic measurements: Continuous pulmonary artery and cardiac output was measured using conventional cardiac catheterization or Swam-Gang catheterization. Arterial and pulmonary arterial pressure and ventricular pressure were measured with a Hewlett-Packard 1280c pressure sensor.
