After retirement I like to read the old newspapers and magazines, ancient books. Recently I saw in Shanghai’s Wen Wei Po on February 22, 1998, version 7, there was an essay entitled “Blood Feelings - the Origin of Zhou Enlai and Shaoxing” (hereinafter referred to as “Feel Deep”) article, the article actually proposed a Brand New Proposition - Zhou Enlai was born in Shaoxing. As a research professional at Zhou Enlai, I am naturally very interested. However, after reading it carefully, I found that it can hardly withstand scrutiny. It is only a wishful thinking of “fighting for” celebrities in the community at present. The main card of “Deep Love” was the memory of Zhang Zesheng, deputy party secretary of Wuhan Medical College on July 25, 1978. He said that during the underground work that year, he went to work in Hongyan, Chongqing to report on his work. When he lived in Hongyan Guest House, he lived and went downstairs with Zhou Enlai’s father, Mr. Zhou Xiaogang, and was still eating together. Mr. Zhou Lao once said with them: “Premier Zhou was born in Shaoxing.”
