2000年7月29日,四川省委办公厅在成都市商业街58号修建机关食堂地下室时,发现了几具大型船棺,成都市文物考古研究所获悉后迅速派人进行抢救性发掘。经过近半年的发掘工作,取得了重大发现与收获,确定这是一处时间为古蜀开明王朝晚期(约相当于战国早期偏晚)的大型多棺合葬的船棺、独木棺墓葬,编号2000CSSM1(以下简称M1),初步推测应该是古蜀国开明王朝王族甚或蜀王本人的家族墓地。现将该墓葬发掘的主要情况及收获介绍如下。
On July 29, 2000, when Sichuan Provincial General Office found a large ship’s coffin while building a canteen basement in No. 58 Commercial Street, Chengdu, Chengdu Institute of Cultural Relics and Archeology promptly sent people for rescue excavations.
