In Beethoven’s last home - a room in Vienna’s “Black Spanish Apartment” (demolished in 1903) - two grand pianos stand opposite each other. One of them is the grand piano presented by the famous 1818 London Broadwood Piano Factory. At that time, Beethoven, who was deaf, had gradually given up piano writing. The new piano rekindled his creative desires and wrote his later piano pieces.
