The South Korean Ministry of Communications, Oceans and Meteorology-1 (COMS-1), also known as the “Clairvoyance” satellite, is a multi-purpose satellite for Korea’s communications, marine monitoring and meteorological observation. Launched in 2002, the project is funded by the Korea Ministry of Science and Technology, the Korea Meteorological Administration, the Ministry of Information and Communication and the Ministry of Marine Fisheries. Clairvoyance-1 is a three-axis stable satellite with a 10-year design life and is under the auspices of Astriun Corporation of America and launched by a Ariane-5 rocket. Telekom-1 was launched on June 27, 2010 and put into operation on April 1, 2011, targeting 128.2 ° (E). The developing Kompsat-2 is composed of two satellites: one is a meteorological satellite-multi-purpose satellite-2A, planned to be launched in 2017 and the other is a marine environment satellite-multi-purpose satellite-2B, It is planned to launch in 2018.
