泾川古称泾州,是丝绸之路西出长安到陇右的重镇,佛教发展较早。北朝以来即有佛教寺院及石窟寺的开凿,隋唐时期更发展为佛教圣地之一,大云寺即为重要的佛教遗存,上世纪60年代以来,泾川多次发现瘗埋舍利的地宫及佛教造像,2012年更发现了较大的佛教造像窖藏,造像碑为其中的重要组成部分。造像碑多以反映北朝时期中原北方地区极为流行的宣传大乘佛教思想的《法华经》及《维摩诘经》等内容为主,雕刻风格既有该地区的地域特点,又与长安地区的风格有密切的关联。
Jingchuan ancient name Jingzhou, is the Silk Road West from Chang’an to Longyou, Buddhism developed earlier. Buddhist temples and cave temples have been excavated since the Northern Dynasties. In the Sui and Tang dynasties, they were further developed as one of the Buddhist holy sites. The Danyun Temple is an important Buddhist relic. Since the 1960s, Jingchuan has repeatedly discovered the underground palace and Buddhism Statues, 2012 also found a larger cache of Buddhist statues, statues of the monument is an important part of them. Mostly in the Northern Dynasties, the pagodas reflect the extremely popular Fa-hua Sutra and Vimalakirti which advocate the Mahayana Buddhism thought in the Northern Central Plains during the Northern Dynasties. The engraving style combines the geographical features of the area with those of the Chang’an area Style is closely related.
