After the Northridge earthquake in 1994 in the United States and the Hanshin earthquake in 1995 in Japan, many new types of beam-column joints have been proposed. Among them, dogbone joints are the most studied form of joints. At present, this node is experimentally studied with practical engineering, and its performance under simulated earthquake loads is discussed. The experimental results show that the ductility of the joint can be increased by reasonably weakening the upper and lower flanges near the node, and the stiffness and strength of the joint have little influence on the node performance. Based on the experimental research and numerical calculation, a dog bone node design method is proposed
