Atmospheric pressure There was no increase in the incidence or mortality of full-term newborn babies born at 2700-3000 meters above sea level in Colorado, United States. At 3100 meters above sea level, women with lower arterial oxygenation gave birth to fewer babies. It has been reported that persistent high incidence of patent ductus arteriosus and general increase of pulmonary hypertension in infants born at high altitude. Newborns born at 4,000 meters above sea level have a lesser average body weight and a placenta weight heavier than a newborn born near sea level. The same is true for sheep. At 3800 m, rats have smaller litter size and slower growth and development, but their placental weight is no greater than sea level. Ram at the sea level with normal sperm, when at an altitude of 4,000 meters or more, sperm count decreases and differences
