According to the annual survey released by the recent U.S. industrial publisher Gardner Publications, Inc., machine tool output in 34 countries in the world was 37.1 billion U.S. dollars in 1997, compared with 38.7 billion U.S. dollars in 34 countries in 1996 4.2%.
