推力轴承是水轮发电机组的最重要部件,对推力轴承的运转润滑性能研究,由于涉及到热力学、传热学、流体力学和热弹性力学等多门学科的知识应用,所以长期以来从实验的角度,对推力轴承进行系统性研究都一直受到其复杂性的困扰。在实验研究中,要使模型按真机尺寸实现1比1模化显然是不现实的,其次三峡水轮机组的真机推力轴承尚未制造出来,因而尺寸按比例缩小的模型试验研究对预测推力轴承真机润滑性能有着重要的意义。作为模化实验,其关健点就是如何建立模型和真机之间的相似模化关系,通过模型试验来预测尚未建造出来的真机性能,并为真机的设计提供实验依据。
