When I was 17, I went to the University of Pennsylvania to study architecture in the United States and later transferred to Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I did not get a master’s degree in 1945 and I was hired as a lecturer by Harvard Design Institute. At the age of 31, I made a surprising choice: to leave Harvard and go to work for a real estate company. Because I feel free enough in school, I hope I can learn something new. At that time, the person in charge of the company trusted me and had a long-term perspective, giving me a little freedom and letting myself carry out my work.
