In the macroscopic context of the intellectual world at the time, Gu Hongming put the foundation and motivation of the modern transformation of Chinese culture on the traditional culture, and its translation activities are closely linked with its unique traditional culture. Gu Hongming interpreted the core concept of Confucian classics as having the traditional color of European natural law. By examining Gu Hongming’s translations and other writings, we can see Gu Hongming’s unique “Confucianism - Modernization” ideology.
