工笔画是我国传统绘画当中的一门重要学科,从绘画的形式来看,它具有造型严谨、用笔工细、设色典雅的特点,这也是大多数人对工笔画的感受。但就其绘画的本质而言,它却蕴含着中国传统绘画的写意精神。长期以来,大多数人只注重工笔画形式上的工整性,而忽略了其内在的写意性。不仅是工笔画而且就中国画整体而言,它都是写意的艺术。写意性是中国画的精神核心,虽然工笔画追求形似,人物形象严谨,但是它并非西方自然主义的写实。工笔画追求形似,但他本质上是意象造型的观念,工笔画在构思、线条、创作上更趋向于对画面内容的精神性表达。
