从 17世纪中期开始,在清朝统治阶级和蒙古封建贵族的扶持下,喇嘛教在蒙古地区发展到鼎盛时期。经过 200余年的传播和发展,深入到整个蒙古社会的政治、经济、文化艺术领域之中,产生了极大的影响。尤其是那些丰富多彩的喇嘛教音乐,无论从它的音乐形态还是风格特征都有其独特的一面。特别是在喇嘛教音乐中占有中心地位的各种诵经曲和法会器乐曲,在它传承的过程中既保留了原来的风貌,又有了地区特色。这充分说明了藏传佛教音乐与蒙古地区的音乐文化以及风俗习惯和祭礼仪式,既分离又融合地存在着。
From the mid-17th century, with the support of the Qing ruling class and the feudal nobility of Mongolia, Lamaism developed its heyday in Mongolia.
