苏薯６号薯块纺锤形，鲜薯水分较多，胡萝卜素含量高，食味甘甜可口。抗根腐病，较抗茎线虫病和黑斑病。８月初至１０月上旬的主要生育期间，ＬＡ１、地上部茎叶干重和９月中旬至收获前的净同化率均明显高于徐薯１８，且结薯早，薯块增重强度高、持续时间长。薯干率２２％左右，与徐薯１８相当或略低，夏薯鲜产可比徐薯１８增加１０～３０％。
