文学泉座落在湖北省天门县城北门外官池之滨,传为晋代高僧支遁驻锡龙盖寺时开凿,已有一千六百余年的历史。文学泉又名陆子井,俗称“三眼井”。相传唐代《茶经》作者陆羽少年时期曾在此汲水煮茶,因陆羽曾被诏拜太子文学(未就),故以“文学”命泉。后来此井久堙,失其所在。据《天门县志》载:清乾隆三十三年(1768年)天旱,掘荷池,得断碑,有“文学”字样,见泉水,于是甃井,建亭,立碑,以复胜迹。此井口径90厘米,上覆八方形巨石,凿品字形三圆孔,甚为别致。文学泉水源为古城堤北地下水,此水在地下渗透
