Acute phase protein (APP) is a large group of different plasma proteins that are primarily synthesized by hepatocytes upon inactivation of interleukin I released by phagocyte activation and epidermal T cell activator released by damaged epidermal cells in vivo Acts as a mediator, inhibitor, scavenger and immunomodulator. In most of the acute and chronic inflammation, serum APP levels change significantly. This study was designed to evaluate the clinical significance of APP in chronic liver disease (CLD) with different etiology and histology and in hepatocellular carcinoma. The subjects included: 120 cases of CLD including viral hepatitis, primary biliary cirrhosis, autoimmune slow-living liver and alcoholic liver disease, 40 cases of normal serum as control, 10 cases of healthy HBsAg carriers, rheumatoid Sexual joints
