李泽厚曾说:艺术并非私人心理,它是公众的游戏,游戏虽无规律,却有参加者必须遵守的规则。而笔者认为,这种规则既然是公众的游戏规则,则是与艺术家生活的时代和那个时代所具有的文化精神紧密相连。在当代,花鸟画不再以适应社会最高阶层的审美需要为旨趣,而是以当代中国人的人生体验与精神生活为源泉,以达到满足普通人抒情娱性为目的的艺术创造。水墨工笔花鸟形态的审美复苏,正是工笔花鸟画在“当代化”过程的具体体现。水墨工笔花鸟形态是依靠水墨绘画语言的象征性符号和绘画语言所具有的特殊表现形式,在时代的要求下,所建立起来的新型的“当代水墨工笔花鸟形态”。水墨工笔花鸟形态的艺术语言与其它艺术形态语言一样,是艺术家为了表达
