Systemic scleroderma (SSc) is a progressive dermatosis with symmetric skin sclerosis and ischemia of the fingers or toes, accompanied with lesions of the joints, muscles and many intal organs, and it may clinically result in functional disablement due to sclerosis, rigidity and atrophy of the skin1. The following is a survey of the basic and clinical studies of TCM on SSc.
