区别服务是图书馆服务的基本原则之一,是根据读者的职业、年龄、文化程度等的不同而采取相应服务的一种方式。区(县)馆在人员少、机构不多的情况下,怎样开展区别服务,这是值得研究的问题。我馆是武汉市区级公共图书馆,设有外借处、综合阅览室、少儿阅览室、少儿外借处和服务部等服务机构,工作人员共六名。几年来,我们对区(县)馆的区别服务进行了如下的实践和探索。一、为科技读者提供优惠服务为了方便科技读者,我们采取的优惠服务措施是:馆内所有图书、期刊对科技读者实行全开架借阅,对一般读者则实行半开架借阅;书刊借期他们为一年,一般读者则为半个月或一个月;书刊外借量他们为30~50
