Jane Austen, a famous British novelist, wrote an immortal work Pride and Prejudice in 1813 since which time the dispute has never stopped and the study on it has focused on the consciousness of independence, feminist position and womens mental education. This article discusses the gap between societys spiritual demand placed on women and womens education, which buries the real seeds of the fundamental tragedy that marriage life without spiritual resonance has been ubiquitous, lasting for centuries. It analyses the cultural and political conditions against the novels background and concludes a reasonable settlement of the problem in contemporary society.
