一、教材分析
本课教材使用的是牛津初中英语七年级上第五单元课文内容,这篇课文将用两课时完成教学,第一课时的任务是让学生熟悉课文,初步了解万圣节的知识。第二课时执教者将讲解英语书信格式、帮助学生学习课文中的语言点和难以理解的句型,并且通过补充阅读让学生对万圣节等西方节日进行进一步的了解。
二、教学目标
1. 知识目标:学习有关万圣节的知识,了解西方人为庆祝万圣节所开展的活动。
2.能力目标:培养学生的阅读能力。
3. 情感、态度价值观目标。
三、教学重点
1. 学生通过几次不同要求的阅读课文,能准确获取以下信息:万圣节的时间,西方人为庆祝万圣节所开展的活动内容和庆祝方式。
2.学生对课文内容能进行梳理,便于他们记忆、理解和运用。
四、教学难点
1.能在教师的指导下,简单地复述故事。
2.能通过学习万圣节进行中国节日和西方节日的比较。

Teaching steps:
A)Greetings
Teacher: Before the class begins, let’s read the tongue twisters. Choose one of them to read, please.
Ok, read them..
Tongue twisters;1. I wish you were a fish in my dish.
2. Black background, brown background.
(Ask about ten students to read the tongue twisters one by one.)
设计意图:主要是让学生在课前做个热身运动,通过英语绕口令的快速朗读使学生进入学习英语的氛围中,消除他们的紧张感,让学生兴奋起来,为进入课文教学做好铺垫

B)Lead in.
Teacher: We know there are so many festivals in the world Can you tell me your favourite one and why you like it?
(Ask about seven students to tell us their favorite festivals and why they like them best)

C)Study the text:
What is our friend Wendy’s festival?
Teacher: We have known some of your favorite festivals. What is our friend Wendy’s festival?
Let’s read her e-mail to Millie. And find the answer.
Read her e-mail quickly and tell me the answers to the following questions.
Q1 What is her favorite festival?
Q2 When is Halloween?
Q 3 What kind of lanterns do they make?
(Ask some students to tell us the answers to these three questions)
设计意图:在了解了学生喜欢的节日以后,自然过度到课文,让学生快速浏览课文,找到主角Wendy最喜欢的节日以及人们如何制作南瓜灯笼,怎么使用南瓜灯笼

Put on the masks
Teacher: After reading the text, I am sure you know what they wear at Halloween.
(Ask some students to come to the front of the classroom and put on the masks.)
设计意图:通过6个学生上讲台戴上万圣节面具,手中拿着南瓜灯笼在教室里行走使学生进一步感受万圣节的氛围,对学习西方文化产生兴趣。

There are so many festivals in the world. If you were to create a new festival, what would it celebrate?
设计意图:让学生开动脑筋,把学过的知识运用到生活中,帮助教者进一步了解学生的思想。从而能给予正确的引领。
