The Charles Stark Draeber Laboratory chose the third generation of inertial meters for the MX inertial measurement unit (Advanced inertial reference sphere). These inertial instruments refer to third-generation gyroscopes and ratio integral receivers (SFIRs). Developed characteristic test plan to measure the performance of the instrument. Prioritized and identified project for characterization. Standard test plans and procedures have been developed. These tests are conducted in several laboratories to give the characteristics of the instrument and use the concept of a standard test instrument to identify differences between laboratories.
