电铸金刚石钻头的制作是在较低温度下进行的,因此金刚石不受损伤,加之这种方法所需设备投资少,消耗能源少,生产成本低,因而七十年代以来,电铸金刚石钻头的制造方法引起了国内外的广泛注意。近几年来,国内不少单位相继开展了电铸金刚石钻头的研制,提出了不少配方,研制了大量钻头,也进行了广泛的生产试验。七七年国家地质总局在西安通过了对临潼东风电热元件厂等四单位研制的电铸金刚石钻头的初步鉴定。事实证明,我国研制的电铸金刚石钻头已达到一定水平,有一定实用价值。近两年来,不少单位反映电铸金刚石钻头性能不够稳定,钻头寿命或高或低,体现不出低温加工的优越
