Objective To explore the extent of lead harm in copper smelting industry, evaluate the relationship between health damage and harmful factors, and provide the basis for target intervention. Methods Occupational health examination was conducted on 599 lead workers in two copper smelters with the same production process. According to the requirements of Technical Specifications for Occupational Health Monitoring, 599 people were tested for urinary lead. Results The exceeding rate of urine lead was 36.39% in two copper smelters. The exceeding rate of workers in factory A was 45.34% and the exceeding rate of factory worker in factory B was 30.11%. There was significant difference between the workers of two factories (P <0.05). Conclusions The occupational hazards of lead in copper smelting industry are serious, and the different lead-passing rates of lead in different copper smelting workers are different.
