刘松泉是我国橡胶育种事业的开创人之一。五十年代，他主要参与国产橡胶优良母树的选择和无性系培育工作．六十年代，他先后从国外引进１２０多个橡胶优良品系，积极进行适应性试验与大面积推广．八十年代，他参与负责“六五”和“七五”橡胶育种攻关课题．此外，他还进行幼态无性系的性质及其利用的研究，取得阶段性成果．他治学严谨，工作勤奋，生活俭朴，他把毕生的精力献给了祖国的橡胶事业．
Liu Songquan is one of the pioneers of rubber breeding in China. In the fifties, he mainly participated in the selection of excellent mother-made rubber trees and cloning training. In the 1960s, he introduced more than 120 excellent rubber strains from abroad and actively carried out adaptive tests and large-scale promotion. In the 1980s, he participated in the “Sixth Five-Year” and “Seventh Five-Year” rubber breeding topics. In addition, he also conducted research on the nature and utilization of juvenile clones and achieved initial results. He rigorous scholarship, hard-working, frugal life, he dedicated his life to the motherland’s rubber business.
