The historical limit of capital is the historical space and boundary of capital movement. It is the essential characteristic of capital and even capitalism. It depends on the inherent irreconcilable fundamental contradictions of capital. Marx’s revelation of the inherent limits of capital is the foundation and center of his capitalist critique. This kind of revelation and criticism is carried out through three paths of production, negation and practice, reflecting the essence of Marx’s overall method. Later Marxist scholars inherited and developed Marx’s idea of capital limits in a certain sense. However, some left-wing scholars deviated to some extent from this thought. Although contemporary western economics has made rapid progress, its understanding of the law of capital activities still fails to break through the inherent limitations of capitalism, but in a certain sense, it corroborates Marx’s point of view.
