The author has previously reported two simple questions, one on “dependency” (do you / they need someone else’s help in their day-to-day activities?) And one on “recovery” (have you / they completely recovered from a stroke?) , Used to measure the prognosis of stroke survivors. Now, the author goes further and proposes data that is consistent and valid with simple questions. The patients were 152 survivors from 266 consecutive stroke patients (initial or recurrent) admitted to hospital from October 1990 to May 1991. All patients received a face-to-face interview at their place of residence one year after the stroke and were asked by their primary caregiver if the patient had any cognitive or communication difficulties. In order to avoid interacting with other tests, first ask simple questions. Other tests include: OHS, Barthel Index (BI), Census and Disability Identification (OPCS), Fren-
