铸造铝合金的特点是强度比较高、导热性比较好及具有耐蚀性比较强,并且加工成本较低,因此在发泡模具中广泛运用,但由于高温下工作过程中其强度、耐磨性、硬度等特性性能都会随之下降,模具型腔在注射压力高的情况下,很容易发生热变形,甚至开裂,模具变形开裂后如果直接报废,花费成本比较高,所以进行修复时要使用焊接的方法,从而节约了模具成本,具有很好的经济价值,铝合金焊接修复技术在模具制造中被广泛推广,但铝合金焊接性差,尤其是铸造铝合金模具由于模具生产厂家不同,有些厂家的铝合金杂质含量高,导致铝合金焊接修复更为困难。甘肃钢铁职业技术学院引进松下全数字脉冲MIG/MAG焊机350GE2,选用合适的焊接材料,经过不断试验研究制定了铝合金焊接修复工艺,为铸造厂成功修复多起铝合金发泡模具。
