内蒙包头白云鄂博铁矿是一个以铁、稀土、铌、萤石为主的多元素共生复杂巨型矿床,是包钢的原料基地。矿床中,除蕴藏着巨大的铁矿资源外,稀土、铌资源也十分丰富。稀土储量居世界首位,占全国稀土总储量的98％;铌资源仅次于巴西,居世界第二位,占全国铌储量的99％。开发和利用包头矿产资源,对我国社会主义“四化”建设具有极其重要的战略意义。
Inner Mongolia Baotou Bayanobo iron ore is a multi-element complex of giant iron, rare earth, niobium, fluorite deposits, is the raw material base of Baotou Steel. Deposits, in addition to containing a huge iron ore resources, rare earth, niobium resources are also very rich. Rare earth reserves rank first in the world, accounting for 98% of the total rare earth reserves in the country. Niobium is the second largest resource in the world after Brazil, accounting for 99% of the national total. To develop and utilize Baotou mineral resources is of extremely important strategic significance to the “four modernizations” of our socialist construction.
