在使用72型这类用光电池为接收元件的比色计时,会发生因光电池衰老而效率降低的现象,致使仪器的对照调不到100处(透光100％,吸收为零处)。若手中没有可更换的光电池,但又急需测定时,可以按下列方法做:把对照(空白)和待测样品放入比色架中。首先把对照拉入光路,调整100％旋钮至最大,记录下对照的透光度读数,然后把待测样品拉入光路,记录下待测样品的透光度读数,按下式计算:
