新加坡南洋理工学院类同于我国三年制的高职教育,以校内的“教学工厂”和校外的实习基地为依托将同一专业的学生分成学科组合1和学科组合2,实行“双轨制”的教学模式,适应了高职学生的学习特点,抓住了高素质技能型人才培养的关键要素,巨大地挖掘了学生的学习潜能,同时使教学设备、师资和校企合作的企业得到充分利用,使综合效益最大化。在总结新加坡“双轨制”教学成功经验的基础上,提出在我国高职的第三学年适宜采用“双轨制”教学模式,并对此进行设计和有关问题的思考。
