According to the hot point assumption, the hot spot is fixed to the middle layer. The relatively hot plate movement is called absolute plate movement. The absolute plate motion model can be obtained by inverting the velocity and direction of volcanic chain propagation to determine the origin of the relative plate motion in the angular velocity space. Using a set of recent hot migration rates and direction data (0 ~ 7.8Ma) globally, combined with the plate motion model NNR-NUVEL1A, a current absolute plate motion model called APM2 has been developed. According to the model, the Pacific plate moves at a rate of (0.8330 ° ± 0.0133 °) / Ma around 60.063 ° S at 102.210 ° E, and the plate of Africa at 46.849 ° N, with a pole of 44.372 ° W at (0.1015 ° ± 0.0134 ° ) / Ma. The movement of the Antarctic plate at the pole of 46.871 ° N and 146.942 ° E is at a rate of 0.0846 ° ± 0.0177 ° / Ma. The movement of the Eurasian plate is much slower at 27.291 ° N and 171.925 ° W at a rate of (0.0655 ° ± 0.0206 °) / Ma. This model shows that the relatively deep mantle in the lithosphere has a net rotation of 49.423 ° S and 90.625 ° E at a rate of (0.1983 ° ± 0.0135 °) / Ma. This shows that the Pacific hot spot is inconsistent with the Indian-Atlantic hot spot and shows that the Pacific hot spot movement is also inconsistent. For the purpose of analysis and comparison, the angular velocity of plate absolute motion using only the globally distributed hotspots and the strike data of the Indo-Atlantic hotspots is also given.
