The current supervision of public opinion in China is facing gratifying and worrying two situations. The impact of emerging media like the internet, mobile phones and other media on the supervision of public opinion should not be underestimated. Concerns, some of the concepts, policies and regulations that hinder and bind the supervision of the mainstream media are still deeply rooted. At the same time, there are some new signs of diversification of public opinion. The new online media such as weibo, forums and mobile internet have become important channels for public opinion supervision. In addition, in investigating and supervising and in-depth reporting, traditional media have been re-emerging through integration with the content of new media but are becoming increasingly fragmented. In view of this, we have invited three scholars, including Professor Tong Bing, to discuss the current situation of public opinion supervision in our country and how to promote it in the future. We hope these articles can promote the theoretical research and practice of public opinion supervision in the future.
