In recent years, stem cell transplantation has become the focus of injury tissue regeneration, regeneration and repair studies. Stem cell populations derived from adipose tissue have unique advantages over other stem cell lines. First of all, adipose tissue is widely distributed, easily accessible, less traumatic to patients and easier for patients to accept. Second, the stem cell population is easy to separate and proliferate rapidly and can be quickly applied to the treatment. Acute kidney injury (AKI), as a common medical emergency, has a high incidence and relatively limited treatment. The treatment effect is not satisfactory and new treatments are urgently needed. Among them, cell therapy is considered as a promising treatment. In this review, we summarize and prospect the application of adipose derived stem cells (ASCs) in the treatment of AKI animal model, in order to lay the foundation for future research.
