导读:美国伊利诺斯州的一家人利用酷寒的天气制造了高达45英尺的冰柱,让人联想到《冰雪奇缘》中长公主Elsa的人体模型。
When life gives you sub-zero temperatures, make icicles - 45-foot-tall icicles!
This St.Elmo, Illinois(伊利诺斯州)family decided to get creative when temperatures dropped. A couple of weeks ago, homeowner Katherine Ragel’s son, Garrick Moreland, climbed into one of the trees with a hose(软管), put it in place and turned the water on! The result was a beautiful, but potentially dangerous icicle.
Ragel is worried that the icicle could cause a car accident because passing traffic will sometimes stop in the middle of the road to take a look. “You have got a one shot deal,” said Moreland.
You may be wondering if there is a person inside the base of the icicle. It is actually a mannequin (人体模型)of Elsa from the movie Frozen(《冰雪奇缘》)! She was put underneath a Plexiglas(树脂玻璃)ceiling so that she would still be visible.
The idea came from Ragel’s late husband, Alan, who liked to create small icicles along the driveway. “We are still carrying this on the best we can,” said Ragel. “Alan always liked to do something different from other people. So he would love all the traffic we are getting. I am sure he is looking down and smiling on it.”
