This international forum comes at a time where our political leaders have just opened a new chap- ter in the relations between China and the European Union.They have both underlined the breadth of our coop- erative relations and their mutual wish to further develop our comprehensive strategic partnership.Given the strong transnational dimension of corporate governance,the European Commis—sion also endeavors to promote the de—velopment of a sound corporate gov—ernance framework at the level of Eu—ropean Union.We believe such a framework requires a four—strand approach,as shown below.
