锦屏二级水电站布置7条穿越锦屏山的隧洞群总长约120 km,其中4条引水隧洞单洞均长16.67 km,开挖洞径12.4~14.6 m,隧洞沿线一般埋深1 500~2 000 m,最大埋深2 525 m,最高外水压力超过10 MPa,具有洞线长、埋深大和洞径大等特点,是国内乃至世界上已建、在建总体规模最大、综合难度最高的地下洞室群工程。引水隧洞沿线水文地质条件复杂,地形条件特殊,在建设过程中遭遇高地应力岩爆、岩溶地下突涌水和承载结构等诸多难题挑战,围绕上述难题开展了大量的开创性研究工作,成功解决了深埋特大水工隧洞关键技术问题,保证了隧洞的安全快速掘进和稳定运行,电站于2014年全部投产发电,工程处于安全稳定运行状态。

A great number of groundbreaking researches have been carried out on the above problems, The key technical problems of buried large hydraulic tunnels ensure the safe and fast tunneling and stable operation of the tunnels. The power station was fully commissioned in 2014 and the project is in a safe and stable operation.
