河北省金属学会第四届钢管学术会议于1993年12月7～8日在霸洲市召开。会议以提高钢管产品质量,按照国际标准组织生产为主题进行了学术交流;重点推广了霸洲市钢管厂以市场为导向,对生产线进行全面技术改造,按国际选进标准组织生产,取得人均2.8万元利税的成功经验,并组织现场参观。会间省冶金厅有关处室传达了冶金部刘淇部长有关提高产品质量的讲话和介绍了河北省冶金工业的现状与发展前景。
