Foreword In areas where earthquakes occur frequently, the design of frame girders should take into account the obvious loss of carrying capacity or energy dissipation capacity that can withstand several load cycles after entering the inelastic stage. In order to meet this design assumption, the reinforcement structure must be carefully handled, especially at the beam-column joints. The main issues to be considered when designing a node are: (1) Anchorage of the main beam of the beam in the core area of the node; (2) The core of the node should have sufficient shear resistance; (3) Maintain the required axial load capacity. The American Concrete Society (ACI)-ASCE352 Committee recently proposed design recommendations for the joints of cast-in-place reinforced concrete structures (hereinafter referred to as “recommendations”). Some of the nodes studied in this paper are designed according to “recommendations”.
