Dickinson uses the phrase “to tell the truth, but in a sloping manner,” to reveal the fate of millions of women. From the feminist movement in the 1860s to today’s feminist criticism, its existence and development can be described as twists and turns and difficult. Eliza, the heroine presented by the novel Chrysanthemum, undoubtedly provided a field for us to discuss female discourse. The real realization of this field is the struggle between truth and inclination, and finally the realization of the harmony between the two sexes.
