后山铁厂小高炉,由于在造渣制度上存在着高铝、低镁、高二元碱度的不合理状况,长期影响炉况的顺行,以致造成原料消耗大、焦比高、事故频繁、经济效益不好的局面。后来根据高炉渣的四元组成理论,并参考有关高铝渣的合理组成数据,适当地添加了白云石熔剂,提高了炉渣中氧化镁的含量,降低了二元碱度,其结果大大改善了炉渣的热稳定性和脱硫效果,使高炉生产获得了明显的改善,提高了经济效益。
