In this paper, the effects of carbon equivalent, sulfur content and mixed rare earth addition on the solidification and microstructure of gray cast iron were investigated.The cooling curves of various cast irons were measured and analyzed, and their relationship between temperature eigenvalues and microstructure was discussed.The carbon equivalent , The amount of sulfur and the amount of rare earth mixed with the hope to obtain a small eutectic and graphite A gray cast iron.The mechanism of rare earth metal inoculation of gray cast iron was discussed.
