Based on the measured data of summer 1987, winter 1988, spring 1988 and autumn of “Practice” during the joint investigation of Kuroshio in China and Japan, the distribution of water system and its seasonal variation in the study area were analyzed. The results show that: (1) Class Ⅳ mixed water with continental water quality is distributed on the coast of China in autumn and winter; the spring and summer range extends to the open sea. (2) The boundary position between the Kuroshio water and the shelf-mixed water (called the Kuroshio water left boundary) is roughly located between the isobaths of 100-200m and swings with the seasons. The northeastern Taiwan region and the spring Kuroshio water boundary are close to the 100m isobath, Near the 200m isobath in summer, the Kuroshio border between winter and autumn is between spring and summer. The bottom of the summer, the spring from the table in the end, except for the Kuroshio from the east of Taiwan outside the sea, there are some from the Taiwan Strait. Near the section R1 in the northeast of the survey area, the winter Kuroshio water invaded the continental shelf with the strongest force and the boundary is westward; most of the conditions are weakest in summer and the boundary is eastward; and the spring and autumn are located between the two. (3) Cross-intrusion occurred between Kuroshio and shelf-mixed water. (4) Climbing phenomenon of Kuroshio along the slope is more common near the slope, but in some cases, the shelf-mixed water slides along the slope. (5) The distribution of water system from southeast to northwest is not entirely in accordance with the order of K, I, II, III and IV water, and sometimes there is a transition zone of water system, the location of which varies from time to time.
