魔芋为天南星科多年生草本植物的块茎。原为野生,由于经济价值高,逐步发展成为人工栽培的植物。我国的魔芋主要分布在长江流域及以南广大地区。如四川、福建、云南、贵州、湖北、湖南、广东及甘肃等省。魔芋喜湿润温暖的气候,生命力较强,亩产可达几千斤。 除我国外日本也有种植,并有1500年以上的食用历史。魔芋早已成为日本人的家常菜肴。从有关资料来看,日本对魔芋的研究无论从基础到实际应用,均已相当广泛深入。
Konjac is the tuber of the perennial herb of Araceae. Originally wild, due to its high economic value, it has gradually developed into an artificially cultivated plant.
