到达南半球去年11月间,我们乘英国海外航空公司的客机飞往澳大利亚访问。飞机在浩瀚的太平洋上空彻夜飞行,窗外黑漆漆地什么也看不见,仓内单调的马达声响令人昏昏欲睡。忽然,驾驶室内传出了一张“飞行简报”,上面写着:“……”飞行高度,七千米;时速,四百五十英里;距离达尔文还有一小时的航行。”这才使人精种一振。达尔文是澳大利亚最北部的口岸,飞机入境照例在这里停憩让旅客办理繁杂的入境手续,从此旅客便进入了澳大利亚。
Arriving in the Southern Hemisphere Last November, we flew to Australia with a British Overseas Airline passenger plane. Plane flying in the vast Pacific Ocean overnight, the window outside the dark can not see anything, warehouse monotonous motor sounds drowsy. Suddenly, there was a “flight briefing” on the cab that read: “...” flight altitude, seven kilometers; speed, 450 miles; still an hour’s flight from Darwin. Darwin is Australia’s northernmost port, the plane as usual immigrants to stop here for travelers to carry out complicated immigration procedures, since the passengers have access to Australia.
